Our Master Bedroom
Happy Monday! This past weekend was spent celebrating a wonderful man's birthday, my father-in-law! We had a great time with family just spending time together.
Today I thought I would share with you the first "fully" decorated room we have completed in our new home, our master bedroom! I really wanted this room to be the place that we could relax in, so completing it first was top priority. When we registered, I had no idea we would be buying this home, but everything fit perfectly with our vision. I found most of our decorations at Target, and our new furniture at Rooms to Go.
I love neutrals, and I wanted these colors to give a light and airy feel to our room because we have a huge window in the back that brings in the natural light. Our bedspread uses a light grey pattern to give it a little something to tie in with the white bed.
I found our bedside tables at Wayfair, but maybe one day will complete the bedroom set. We were worried the side tables that came with the set would be too big for the space, and we rarely use the tables other than for lamps and charging stations. I found the lavender faux plant at Kirklands to add a little pop of color on that side of the room. I have to give credit to Phil for the lamps, he put those together at Target one weekend. I love white marble, which is in our master bathroom. So, we added subtle pieces of it through the lamp stand to bring the two rooms together. The frames are also from the Project 62 Brand at Target, we wanted to display some of our favorite wedding pictures, and these frames look more expensive and professional than they really are. We added another picture over Phils bedside table to keep it symmetrical.
This beautiful mirror was a housewarming gift from the sellers, and one of my favorite pieces in the room. It makes the space look bigger and has that elegant feel to it.
You might recognize this rug from our living room space in our apartment! The small blue/grey color in the pattern was another way to tie in the colors, and the room needed a rug to continue the cozy and relaxed feel.
Phil and I both are very minimalistic when it comes to our countertops, so the same goes for our dresser. He picked out the picture to go in our frame, using a black and white so the frame would pop a little more. I found some more faux greenery to continue the natural theme throughout the room; I paired this with a see through colored vase.
I really went back and forth on curtains, but ultimately very excited about the grey ones we found. This tied in very well with our bedspread and allows the rug to pop with its pattern. Curtains can be overwhelming sometimes, but I feel like these continued our theme throughout the room.

This has already been the best room to unwind in each day, and I was so excited to see my vision come together. Stay tuned for more rooms as we move from one to the next decorating!
